Voices, noise, it's surrounding us everywhere. If you can identify with voices around you that creates NOISE that pollutes your own thinking, surely you can overcome allowing those voices and noises to prevent you from getting through today-this day-the day that the Lord hath made!
In adopting a new way of thinking to get through daily living, we have to adopt pushing away the ‘wrong voices/noises’, one would begin here:
Amos 5:23 Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps.
There are tiers of noise. Worldwide/international, national, state level, county/city/community, and then noise within our own household.
How to combat and overcome the voices/noise:
IT IS IMPERATIVE to first figure out what’s at the core of the noise, is it someone you converse with, is it reading things through media, is it problems you have going on in your home?
KNOW THE TRUTH: Separate yourself out from what is truth and what is not: We can all have fear that comes from anxiety that is fed through noise. Learning how to identify when it crosses the line and enters you in such a way you begin to have the thoughts consuming over your own thoughts is key!
KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND ACCEPT WHO YOU ARE: Learn your limits. IF you don’t already know this, here’s some tips:
Think back to a time of when you had ‘fear/anxiety’ about something and then ‘after the fact’ it wasn’t nearly as bad as you thought. It could’ve been something as simple as the first time you rode a bike to the first time you got behind the wheel of a car to the concern about a weather event.( Was it because someone said ‘you cannot do that’? Was it because the last time you tried to do it, it didn’t work out? What WAS the reason you had a fear/anxiety about doing it or encountering whatever the ‘it’ was.)
Be honest inside of yourself, what led you to have the fear to begin with? Was it weather related and perhaps weather events you saw on television or the things you heard other people say?
How much voice around you is too much? Discern when the crossover occurs from just audibly hearing what another has to say and then where it crosses over to where you actually tune-in to a listening mechanism where their thoughts then become your own thoughts. *KNOWING yourself and limits isn’t enough, you have to take action steps in implementing barriers so that your limits aren’t overstepped by yourself or anyone else. You do NOT have to allow others whether it’s a media account, a news source or someone you talk to-to bring defeat to you!
DEPART WHAT’S BRINGING NOISE THROUGH VOICES TO YOU! You may have to keep yourself from people. People may have all the best intentions in the world, but TRUTH IS-Satan is all around us and can’t wait to take us down and prevent us from improving in our lives, so sometimes he sneaks and uses people’s voices to speak to us-thereby creating NOISE! Sometimes you have to leave the television off, stay off facebook, twitter, email accounts, etc. Social media and t.v. are great, but sometimes, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH isn’t realized and so-the media source albeit news on t.v. or the newsfeed on facebook or even the tweeting on twitter will continuously drive the same things over and over in different formats even-into the ground. This same thing applies to events socially and church. It applies to any place you go and hear voices as voices is what creates NOISE=pollution!
FOCUS: Stay focused on the tasks you have at hand. Staying FOCUSED IS KEY to getting through anything in life on a daily basis! Quiet time and being humble is imperative in staying focused!
NEW THINKING: IF I worry about what YOU think of me, I will inevitably FORGET what "I" think of ME and what "God" thinks of ME!
The key is to learn how to tune it out! To know some things while others things you don’t want to know, as they are necessary to your individual walk in this life that God has brought forth of you. Some things, we need to know as we stroll along through life, such as: weather alerts or community alerts(i.e., bomb threats, missing child alert, etc.). However, there are many things known to be ‘babble’ that we do not necessarily need to know up close and personal. As it turns out, those things are POLLUTION to our minds meaning they are injurious or capable of causing HARM to us.
