Hearing God's Voice

Ways to hear God's voice:

1. Know WHO God is(answer this as if I asked you “Who are you?” what would you say? What constitutes ‘who you are’?but flip this to God-so WHO is He and what constitutes Him to be WHO He is?) - God IS all seeing, all knowing, all wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. He is the way, the life, the hope, the truth, and He is love.

2. Know that His voice will speak of the characteristics that He is(doesn't your voice speak of who you are?). Thus, if you know He is truth(1 John 4:8), you'd then know His voice speaks the truth and since He is the all knowing the creator,

3. Know how God speaks(i.e., is it by phone or through email or messenger?). He speaks to us through spirit(principle of conscious life).

4. Know the difference between your own voice and His voice(The most difficult part of hearing God is the fact that it takes time to learn to discern God's voice -- and it takes a humble heart, rather then making demands upon God. Thus, we have to know what a humble heart is and what discernment is. A humble heart is a heart that is not proud or arrogant. It's actually modest->free of ostentation to mean free of putting on a show intended to impress others. Discernment is then a perception of understanding, in this case of God's voice).

5. Know that God is ‘for you’, thus, His voice wouldn’t contradict or violate the ten commandments(i.e., commit adultery, rob a bank, murder a person-remembering that murder is a physical death brought to another by violence but it’s also condemnation that slanders/slaughters a person in their esteem-character).

6. Know being still and quiet are key(still->free from sounds/noise from persons; quiet->silent, making no noise-silent).

I have learned how to apply these principles in my daily living by preparing much ahead of time so that when moments may arise, emotions may come, yet I can find my way through it or in the midst of it and still hear God’s voice, for the truth never changes regardless of how I’m feeling or what is occurring. I’ve found that if I know the truth in advance as much as possible, that is-God’s truth, His voice of truth stays with me in all times. He has given me the answer to many of life’s problems, as I share in the video as just one example, in the midst of crisis.

Colossians 3:15, which says,

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts.”

Peace-> cessation of or freedom from any strife or dissension.
